Looks to me like you've been climbing the ranks quite nicely!
Big congrats to you Hurricane Andrew!!!
I'm trying.
I'm also taking a cue from other TeAmates and "assimilating" a machine every now and then at work. RealVNC is your friend, and a valuable resource. Heck, I initially used it as a management tool for our network. Apparantly, that's what it was designed for
. Lone IT guys trying to manage a WAN consisting of 2 locations, when you're the only IT staff, and you're really supposed to be a commercial lender and chief credit officer. A profit center, not a cost center...
What did Shakespeare mean, when he penned "neither a borrower nor a lender be?" Since I'm both, does that mean they cancel out? Two negatives? But I digress... Could it be the    ? I think that's a strong possibility...
Anyway, then I realized how powerful RealVNC could be, especially for those machines that are rarely used. I mean, it's a shame to just have them sitting idle. Isn't that how DC got started anyway? Summer was rough, since most of my fleet would get shut down for a night or weekend every time a storm came through. I'm glad Summer is fading, temps are s l o w l y beginning to fall, and I should enjoy more uptime until Seti finally winds down.
Spacehead,
Hey, that music! When I first gave it a listen, I was thinking Pink Floyd and early (i.e. awesome) Genesis. Then I saw the King Crimson reference (which was a big influence on Peter Gabriel and Anthony Phillips, and hence Genesis) in the FAQ, and was really quite proud of myself. I think I even heard the familiar sounds of a mellotron? If my ears deceived me, it's only because it would have so appropriate...
