First off, Moderator, before you try to lock this thread, I am NOT advocating legalization! I am asking why Republicans are against it.
If Republicans want us to be in charge of our own destiny, why do they work so hard to retain the criminalization of both soft and hard drugs? I mean, if I want to smoke a fattie in my own home after work, and I am not harming anyone, why should that be a problem?
And don't tell me about all the crimes associated with drug use. We already have laws on the books covering crimes that might be committed to support a drug habit, so why do we need to criminalize the drugs as well? This is, I feel, something similar to the anti-vs-pro gun legislation..."we already have gun laws about the misuse of guns, so we do not need more laws," right?
If Republicans think that Government should get out of our lives...why do they insist on intruding here?
