I agree, I just got warned and I feel that I did nothing out of the ordinary for that forum. Obviously, I wrote an anti-obama mesg, which is probably why considering the person who moderated me was "red dawn" who IMHO is pretty liberal. In any case, I'm going to give myself a time to calm down. Maybe I'll just leave this forum. I've done it on other forums before when I thought the moderators were abusing their powers.
So I was being biased because I warned you about posting about Obama supporters sucking his cock? You're lucky you just got a warning. BTW, I guess you didn't notice that I warned jpeyton for the exact same thing in that thread and I wouldn't call him a Conservative by any means. Seems like a pretty level playing field as far as moderating goes to me.
Hi Red,
I found your last email very respectful and even handed. I wrote the above post before I got your email. In any case, there have been instances of other profanities being used in this forum -- some even IMHO, more egregious than when I compared all the ardent obama supporters as "sucking his cock". I guess the moderators are drawing the line there even though IMHO, there are other things being said that are even more offensive, e.g., "circle jerk", "penis", etc. and I think there were times when word "p*ssy" was bantered around, without the '*' of course. Oh, well, play by the rules or don't play at all, right
🙂
I got warned again today. IMHO, I feel that the politics form is moderated by more liberals than conservatives and hence has a tendency not to be even balanced. Apparently, stating this out is calling the "moderators out" (
http://forums.anandtech.com/me...R_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear) and is not allowed.
Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. Maybe the people who feel that they cannot state their opinions directly on the forums due to the mods can silently PM each other to exchange ideas. J/k... Actually, writing this out has actually calmed me a bit. After all, forums are just forums. If people feel that the discussions are only one sided.. or that people are discriminated against. Theres always the door, i.e., "don't let the door hit you on your way out"...
So after writing all this..what does it mean? I don't know.. whatever, I guess. If I don't like it, I can leave -- I'm sure some of the moderators would like that. I guess what I want to point out is that on a forum, you are suppose to debate and exchange ideas. If I decide to not participate as much because I feel discriminated against... are there others? If there are, is this a good thing.
p.s. cannot wait for the first reply that says, you are the only one to feel discriminated against -- now get out!!! hahahahaha
