I'm trying to get an alias to work. i'm kinda confused as to how this works.
the story so far: i'm in need of robocopy to copy folders between computers onto my netbook. I just put XP on the netbook, and i downloaded the utilities pack off microsoft's website with the hope that it'd be like it was in windows 7, with robocopy integrated with the shell. it isnt.. obviously.
so i need to set the alias for robocopy. (while i'm at it, i want to set ls=dir...)
i tried doskey, but that doesnt work through closing and opening the cmd window.
