I am looking for help and advice. Since May of last year I have been seen for peroneal tendon pain in my right foot. It likes to act up in my left foot. I have been stuffed in a cam boot on both feet. Went through months of physical therapy ranging from stretches to water therapy to dry needling. All focused on my right foot. A MRI was finally done Aug of this year and it showed tendinosis and a tear. There is no clue of the depth of the tear. I was offered surgery or another round of cam boot plus more physical therapy. The thought of surgery on my driving foot scared me so much that I opted for 30 days in a cam boot and 6-8 weeks of physical therapy. They made me do stretches and then convinced me to try dry needling. The needling was the worst pain I have ever felt. Yesterday I met with my doctor and agreed the pain was too much to keep trying everything else. The pain it around my ankle bone and radiates from there up my leg below my knee and also into my pinkie toe. I have to wait until late January sometime to have my tendon repair and blood spun. But in the mean time I am sufferring. My left foot is starting to develop the same feeling but at a milder level. I don't know how to manage it because Aleve is not working. Icing only makes my feet cold as ever. And heat was not the best idea I have had.
I don't want my left peroneal to have issues. Is there anything I can do to prevent more damage to either foot while I wait on my surgery date? Any help is welcome..
