Permanent alimony?

The funny thing is Texas has only recently(relatively compared to other states) allowed alimony. Texas does remain the hardest to get alimony in.

That because its presumed alimony isn't warranted. You have to be married for atleast 10 years(less if instances of domestic violence). The the party seeking alimony has to prove certain things. Other states, by statute alimony is required if you've been married x number of years.

how does that canadian law work then? i mean 2 guys sharing a house or something for financial reasons? like joey/chandler etc. would they be married in canada?

Ummm...no, not recent, I had to pay alimony back in 1997.

One of my mom's siblings gets alimony for the rest of her life. $14,400/year since 1981 and still in massive debt.

That said, there needs to be a cap on that shit. She chose to put her ex-husband through some of his college, and she just wastes all of the money anyway.

Ummm...no, not recent, I had to pay alimony back in 1997.

I said relative to other states. Most other states have had alimoney statutes forever. You were married 2 years to long. Texas didn't enact an alimony statute until 1995.
