I have become interested in Perl, and need a good compiler. Does any one have any good suggestions or recommendations.

I agree, download the perl interpereter for windows from Activestate. A few tips: you can't flock a file with activeperl, it gives you a compile error; type perl -c to test run it and get the compile errors.
