Periodic Moments of Summer

1) A few days ago, the sun was shining into my living room so brightly that it was actually warm. The windows were closed of course, but there was a fan in the corner providing some breeze in the room. For a moment it felt like summer.

2) Driving the other day, my windshield kept fogging up despite my efforts with the defrost. So, I rolled the window down a crack to help some of the moisture escape. It was actually a really warm day considering the time of year. The breeze going through my hair with the radio playing made it feel like summer again.

3) I crashed at a friend's house last night. When I awoke this morning, still being in something of a semi-concious stuper, lying in the bed, I heard his dog out in the yard barking. One of his windows has a leak, and so a car wooshed by and I heard it clearly. The big thing-and my friend noticed this too, a breeze came, and, beyond our explanation, it sounded as though it were rustling through leaves in the trees. Again, it felt like summer.

Good lord I hate Chicago winters...I think my mind may just be playing tricks on me because I long for the warm weather again so much.

EDIT for forgetting the word "hate". 😉

Well with every paycheck I get I too momentarily feel 'summer' inside and all. It's not always about nature I guess.
