Perhaps silly question... but how does one store a house key during a jog if they have pocketless clothing?

So recently I went out and bought some new shirts and shorts to go for light jogs in. It was only after the fact that I realized none of the pieces of clothing have a pocket. Is there something common that people use to get around this? I was thinking of a wristband with a slot for a key, or something. But I can't find anything. Hopefully I'm overlooking some really common accessory that tackles this purpose.

-get clothing with pockets
-tie a key on the shoestring and wrap shoestring around wrist, key inside wrist
-attach key to wristband
-pin key to clothes

bolded hint.

to add to megavovan's suggestions:

* hold the key in your hand (this is what i do)
* hide the key somewhere outside of your house
* if you wear an mp3 player (or any accessory) on an arm strap or similar, you can usually fashion a way to get the key in there. even w/o an mp3 player, an arm band from one is a decent option.
* make a necklace out of it, put it under your shirt

ask some thug to hold it for you. make sure you write the address down for him and tell him to watch the door in case of burglary. 😉

I personally use shorts with a pocket.

If you wear longer socks, you can fold over the sock and put it in there. Or you can put the key inside your shoe under the sole if its removable.

Thanks guys -- good ideas. I'll try the thug idea first and see what happens there. I'll report back, if I still have a computer at that point.

dude, key ring around your finger. works for everyone except sprinters and people who jog with spirit fingers.

This is just a random thought, but you could embed it in your shoe laces/top of your shoe if you secure it right. Might require some adjustment/tightening of the laces, but it could work.

When I went through basic training, the chain we used to hold our dog tags was one of those like you see used for pull switches on ceiling fans, with the connected metal balls and connector. Since we weren't allowed to have anything like a key in our pockets (too easy to lose), guess where we put it??

Those chains are only a couple bucks at Walmart. Check the area around where they sell light bulbs. 🙂

Yup, pretty simple. Just put a finger through the key ring, keys fall naturally in your hand as you run.

I have one of those master lock exterior combination lock keyboxes on my backdoor, I just store a spare car key/house key in it. This way I don't have to take my keys to the bars/gym/running/etc. Anywhere I might lose them.

this is what i do even if i do have pockets. i hate the way the keys rattle around or shift against my thigh.

That's where mine goes.

Same here. Sometimes if I take just a single key I'll put it in the back pocket of my shorts but I can still notice it and it bugs me, ring around fingers and keys in palm works fine for me.

I have shorts with a string to tighten and loosen the waist. I tie the key high up on that and there's no bopping around of the key though it looks odd when you go to open your door. 😛
