Performance Ram vs. Dell Ram

I have a Dell xps 420 with 3gb of ddr2 800 ram. Is it worth it to upgrade that to performance ram say like corsair xms or something like that? I use my computer for gaming and my photography biz (photoshop mainly). I know that Vista 32 bit has a limitation of 3gb so I can't upgrade to 4gb. TIA

Just keep your Dell ram. Unless you're overclocking(not on a Dell), performance ram is a waste of money.

Not on a Dell.

On a system where you can control the frequency & timings of the memory, etc, sure.

On a prebuilt, there'd be no point.

And you can upgrade to 4 GB...you just won't see much benefit.
