Performance Question

Im getting a AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Venice) with an Asus 7800GTX. I was just wondering if it will bottle neck at stock speeds. And if it does will overclocking it to 2.6/2.7 get rid of the bottlenecking (if any)?

Also is anyone having any errors running HL2/CSS with a 7800GTX?

Unless you have a 1600x1200 or higher resolution monitor, a 7800GTX will be held back by the CPU in nearly all cases.
Video cards have really jumped ahead of CPUs lately...& it's gonna be that way for a while.

Now having the CPU hold back the video card isn't a bad thing; that's ideal.
It's always better to get lower end CPU + higher end video card than vice versa.
