Performance of XMS Corsair RAM

What is the real performance advantage of Corsair's XMS PC2700 over their normal PC2700?

Edit: Let me clarify. Apparently there are three types of Corsair PC2700: normal, CMX, and XMS. CMX and XMS have those pretty heatspreaders (they aren't useful for anything else ) and XMS is the best performer and also the most expensive. Is the XMS memory is worth the extra $30 (for a single 512MB stick) over CMX?

Yes - if you are going to do any overclocking. I use Corsair XMS PC3200.

Well, I bought myself some XMS PC2700. We'll see how it turns out in a few days

How about for a person that doesn't overclock in any part of his computer? Is there any noticable difference in some PC3200 RAM from newegg with a Cas latency of 2.5 versus XMS Ram with Cas2 or something? I don't overclock at all, so I'm wondering if that RAM provides me with any advantages? If it does, how much? Is it just a few points in 3DMark2001 or is it a few hundred points?

going from cas 2.5-3-3-7 2T down to cas 2-2-2-6 1T is worth about 350 3dmarks on my machine

cas latency is pretty important for anything with heavy memory access. going from 3 to 2 is worth 15 or 20 MHz

Hmmm, well then I guess I'm going to have to go for a low latency ram like Cas2
