Performance issue after upgrading to RST 11.5?

I recently upgraded the RST driver on my HP Envy 4T-1000 (with SRT acceleration option) from 11.1.0.1006 to 11.5.0.1184 to take advantage of the new TRIM features.

Boot seems faster, but application launches and overall performance were sluggish. When I ran PCMark Vantage, my system was more than 50% slower with 11.5 (24000 --> 11000). (also, didn't notice any memory leaks yet! )

😵 What gives? Anyone else see the same behavior?

You'll need to have an upgraded BIOS with Intel OROM 11.5.xx.xx to use the TRIM feature. Regardless, the only chipsets that TRIM has been confirmed to be working on is the 77 series chipsets (no P67, etc. as of yet). I have read that 11.5 has a reduction in speed but nothing about 50% (only 10% or so on reads).

Thanks, Engineer, for the response. My laptop has an HM77 chipset, so looks like I will be hunting for the OROM too. And will give it a try. :sneaky:

BTW, has anyone else run the 11.5 driver+OROM with SRT caching (Enhanced or Max modes)? Is this worth doing?
