Hey, I got a question... Does upgrading yer mother board give increased performance... in say like fps? My current system is...
Asus A7m-266
512 OLD DDR
AMD 1.4 C core (266) i know board isn't certified for this chip.
Geforce 3

Ok... now if I were to go out and buy an A7N8X with 512 Dual Channel pc2700 would I see any better frames in games?
This is part of a gradual upgrade process... just seeing what I should buy first.

THANKS!

Yes.

An nForce 2 chipset would increase your overall system performance...

For the time being you could grab an 8rda+ for $80 along with a Barton 2500+ for about $90...

Just don't run the memory async with the FSB....

A new mobo is sometimes the best upgrade option out there. I remember replacing my old P3 mobo.. Everything ran almost twice as fast.

You would see a differnce in frames but a new video card would get you a lot more frames too.

Go with the MoBo...You'll most likely see an increase in Speed all the way around
