Still, I give you a little story. The GF 6800 GT cards were in general considered good overclockers that should reach 6800 Ultra speeds with relative ease. When I bought a Leadtek card with pretty much the largest, heaviest and visually most impressive heatsink you could imagine, I was sure I could reach Ultra specs without breaking a sweat, given my good PSU, well-cooled case, etc. Nope. My card overclocked by around 20 MHz core. Memory OC was also crap. I got a second one. Same story. Memory OCed well but core did not. Around 20 MHz again. I got the third and last one. Even worse. Core OCed by 10-15 MHz, memory OC sucked.
My point: overclocking is never guaranteed. You're getting above official specs and even if hordes of other users claim they OC their cards to hell and back, you can always get a "dud"
