Between my actual rig, in my sig, and the following rig:

ASUS P5N32-E SLi
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Corsair TwinX 2X1024 PC-6400 C4
GeForce 8800 GTS or R600 XL

However, I also consider keeping my current rig, and simply upgrading the GPU, same choices as above. What should I do ? Keep the rig and get new GPU ? Or wait longer, save money and go for completely new rig ? I will do the upgrade in late March or by sometime in April, since R600 XL isn't supposed to come out in March, but a little later, I think, which I hope means somewhere in April.

And, finally, my current Power Supply is Antec NeoHE 550 (would it be enough for either 8800 GTS or R600 XL ?).

And that's for gaming, mostly. Also some video decoding and encoding, but that's quite rare.

Thanks.

Hi, other than your choice of memory (OCZ has equal to or better than of course :) ) This looks like a good upgrade plan You should see noticable gains in taxing games and in a power user situation.

As far as the PSU, look at your available amps on your 12v rails and be sure you have enough as recommendedfor your video card choice. Larger is better, and you will hear lots of arguments on this forum about PSU size requiements, but running a marginal PSU can damage your OS and components.

id get a new PS too.

id build now, since you are waiting until april, the core2 prices are dropping a whole lot in q2 so wait for those - you will save almost 100 bucks on the cpu. use that for a new PS.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I don't know much about voltages and electricity, so here are the links for my current PSU's specifications and another PSU that I might buy if I need to: NeoHE 550 (my current one) http://www.antec.com/specs/NeoHE550_spe.html / Trio 650 (the one I'm looking at if I need to get a new one) http://www.antec.com/specs/TP3_650_spe.html

So is my current one enough ? Is there better choices other than the Trio 650 for a new PSU if need be ?
