Hello ,

I'm all about performance today ; )
right now I have 512 mb (2x256 mb pc133) ram on my machine , will there be big difference , if I upgrade to 2100 DDR ? ... well , actually , I'm not really looking forward to upgrading now , b/c I have nice Abit board, but still , just curious ; )

Thanks,
bye.

Not really right now.

Eventually we will see a different between DDR and SDR, but right now it's not enough to make it worth the upgrade.

The performance difference between PC133 and PC2100 is between 3% and 20% depending on the application and bench you run. In most cases it's between 3% and 6% according to the reviews I know. If you have a good running 133A rig, there is no reason to upgrade. Of course the KT266 offers additional features, which have nothing to do with DDR, such as 6 USB, or USB 2.0 capability. For somebody going for a new system now, there is no better choice than DDR.
