Check out [link deleted] for perfectly replicated Oakleys!

---

Since these "replicas" also have the Oakley trademark, they are illegal goods. We will not allow posts for such merchandise on AnandTech.

I'm sure they get some with flaws but they don't send them to customers....I hope. No...mine look really good no flaws at all ....Still can't tell the difference between the real and fakes.

See the other thread. Most knockoffs do NOT come with UV protection. Save $50, and ruin your eyes.

I saw that original thread but it seems to have vanished. I also saw the thread "Foreman" posted about the illegal cable boxes.

I still have a problem with Knock-Offs.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It would be very considerate to edit your title so that those who are *not* looking for shades won't waste their time looking here to see what you're talking about.

<< Q. How close is close when it comes to authenticity? >>

<< A. All glasses are exact replicas, they even have the logos on them. It would be very hard to differentiate the replicas from the real thing. If there is an obvious difference on a style, it will be noted on the details page of that style. >>

<< Replica E - Wires. Excellent quality, and awesome detail. The logos are etched into the front with "OAKLEY" and also with "OAKLEY" on the top of the arms. They are also metal like the real thing. >>

Without the logo, it might be called replica. With logos, I call it counterfeit.

This site has been brought up SEVERAL times here and I ordered a pair of A-wires from this guy over a year ago. I don't care what anyone says. Fake or not they were just as nice as the real thing. They are very well made and very dark (this is a personal liking of mine). UV rays yadda yadda ;)

Either way they are very nice for the price and it sure beats $150 anyday.

Plastics do a great job of blocking UV by themselves.....
If these have plastic lens they should do fine job blocking UV.....
No need for special coating....
And most likely these will have plastic lens cuz glass ones are more expensive.....

if you want it just for looks who cares about UV? I mean if your going without em your still getting hurt then if your just putting on some cheap lenses

<nerd> When UV rays hit a silicon dioxide particle in glass, they oscillate the particle at its natural frequency. A particle oscillating at its natural frequency is fairly stable, so it keeps the energy from the UV ray as kinetic energy rather than re-emitting(sp?) it as a UV ray. Therefore glass absorbs UV rays. </nerd>

hey robo o.k that got me confused so your saying it protects uv rays right? since the glass absorbs it? lol like that replica software :)

I've had a lot of experience with replicas. Besides buying pairs in Mexico, DC, Chicago, NY, and off the internet, I've also dealt them myself. Quality does vary, but the ones you'll buy off the internet are mostly of good quality. A near perfect replica costs a dealer 2-3 dollars. I used to buy them for 2.50 with case from a local guy. Off the internet I've been paying 5 for glasses with case and bag, although I haven't bought any since last summer so i lost email address. it was a hotmail address with oakleyking or something similar in the name.. if anyone knows the guys email adress he's good to deal with. $24.90 is a scam though. NOT A HOT DEAL. Oh and another thing. I've owned real oalkeys too. and i've been one of those people who has said things like "BTW id reccoment buying real oakleys, I saved up and finally got a pair, and their worth the extra money." but i've gained some wisdom and regret it. real oakleys at retail or near retail are not a deal. If u have some connections u can get some of the $150s for 50....but good luck. but for must people....NOT worth it. id think people on this site would realize that. BUY fakes, just not from this site.
