Can u help me out with the motherboards... AMD 64 3500.. I dont know.. On the motherboards it says some socket things i dont understand. Can u give me a motherboard?

Athlon 64's are either socket 754 or socket 939, yours is a socket939 processor. This means the socket that the CPU goes into has 939 pins.

The motherboards that you would want depend on how much you want to pay and what features you want. For a cheap one with no firewire, the epox EP-9NDA3J is a good choice for $99. The Epox EP-9NDA3J is the same board with firewire, but it costs $125. The MSI K8N Neo 2 is probably the fastest and most feature filled socket 939 board, and it costs around $135.

Firewire is a connector, like usb, that is used mainly to connect digital cameras, digital video cameras, external hard drives, and other devices that need to transfer lots of data to the computer. It is much faster than usb.

Anyway if you didnt get my msg

I'm going to buy an AOpen nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT Video Card, 128MB GDDR3, 128-Bit, DVI/TV-Out, AGP 8X, Model "91.05210.66H"

and an AMD 64 3500

so i need a motherboard with both compatible

Are you going to overclock ? If not, get the ASUS A8V deluxe, its the most dependable one out there.

sorry ... you're the first person to send me PM's, so im not used to checking them 😱

Any of the boards i listed will work with your graphics card, but if you need firewire, of the ones i listed you can get either the Epox EP-9NDA3+, or the MSI K8N Neo 2. Either will work well, but the MSI is layed out better than the Epox, and it has more features.

Edit: I was going to mention the Asus A8V Deluxe also, but i forgot. I've heard many good things about it. And it is compatible with all of your components, plus it also has firewire.

blackinches adds a certain something to the forums.

Anyway, do you really need a CD-RW and a DVD-RW? The DVD-RW should be able to write CDs.

Also, you may need to go with a low-end case. I don't know how much the case you have there is, but I'd get a generic one to save money.
