Perfect Defrag software for XP 32bit

I dont like diskkeeper because I hate having a program slowly thrashing my hard drive all day long, sucking up RAM. When I want it defragged I'll run Defrag and get it over with.

Never used Perfect Disc.

I like PerfectDisk - but I've never used DiskKeeper, so can't compare.

Regarding 'disk thrashing', PerfectDisk can be configured for manual-defrag only - and I suspect DiskKeeper can as well.

If not selectable by menu, you can identify the app's running processes and change the appropriate processes from automatic startup to manual startup. That's what I did with PerfectDisk. No problems.

If you're unsure about which process, the ProcessExplorer utility will identify vendor-processes by vendor name.

Hope this helps!

I vote for both O&O and Diskeeper 🙂

If you're looking for a click and leave it solution, Diskeeper is for you.

If you want some more options (though not necessarily neccessary or benefitial), O&O is a lot more advanced.

Never used Perfect Disk so can't comment on that one.
