I wonder if they'll keep the total calories the same. The real benefit of fructose is it's very sweet, so you can use less of it to get a desired level of sweetness.

There's arguments that HFCS causes insulin levels to rise more than sugar, causing a higher chance of weight gain. There have been many links to the replacement of sugar with HFCS in the mid-80's and the obesity epidemic.

Actually, no valid study shows any difference in how the body responds to HFCS vs the same calories of sugar.

And correlation does not prove causation. To blame HFCS for obesity is to totally ignore the drastic cut in activity levels, the explosion in snack foods and the advent of video games, cable/sat tv and the internet during the same time period.

I'd just like to see a blind taste test of a couple dozen different people and see which one they prefer, or if they can even tell the difference.

I've had the Jones "pure cane sugar" cola and frankly it just tasted like every other cola with HFCS.

I drink Coke when I am in Canada, in the US I drink Pepsi. Reason is Pepsi taste exactly the same in both places, but Coke Canada has sugar (not entirely) but in the US it's all HFCS. I hate the American formulation of Coke.

Links and causes are different things. It's suspicious that both things showed up at the same time, but there's also a link to portion sizes increasing around the same time- which might have been a double whammy.

I've had it as well, and thought it was pretty tasty, but couldn't really attribute it to the sugar because I haven't had another green apple soda and their cream soda tastes different than A&W.

There is no link, or cause. Merely a correlation and not a very suspicious one when one realizes that HFCS and sugar are metabolized the same.

Now, let's look at basics, shall we? What also correlates with the rise in obesity? Well, we have an increase of an average of 300 calories a day per person, plus a drastic decrease in activity levels. Wow... ya think that could be it???

NO!!! It's HFCS!!! It's gotta be!!! We need a bogeyman to save us from admitting we're gluttonous and lazy!!!

BTW... There is also a correlation between rap music and obesity. I say we run with that.

I'd really rather not...

I don't really drink pop and Mountain Dew tastes like ass no matter what you put into it, but I may try one of these Pepsis to see if they taste any better than I remember.

Glad to see I'm not alone.

Somebody wake me when Coke does this... though I've had the sugar-Coke from Mexico (that sounds illegal) and I wasn't blown away as everyone always claims to be. More hype than substance I think, but to each their own.

After going from HFCS Lemonade to cane sugar Lemonade, I'll never drink a HFCS beverage again.

God has given us his drink in the most purest of forms :Q! All hail sugary Mountain Dew!

It may be good to note that you canucks only have caffeine free Mountain Dew which is a bit sweeter than caffeinated Mountain Dew 😛. I've had both myself (it's rare to find caffeine free MD around here, but it is possible) and I have no qualms with either, but I did find the caffeine free to be slightly sweeter.

What is it with you people and Mountain Spew? That is perhaps the most vile soda ever marketed, and yes I have tried the French Muslim Coke that Coca-Cola used to sell (it was a bitter soda!)

What? No caffeinated Mt. Dew, no fire sauce at Taco Bell... they sure get the shaft on two of the stoner staples.

Theres nothing unhealthy about HCFS, there is nothing better about sugar.
Doesnt affect me anyways... Pepsi & Dew BOTH SUCK.

Jones Cola does not taste like pepsi or coke at all imo

Jones the Cola at least tastes terrible compared to HFCS coke

Mexicoke though is delicious

I don't care about the health effects of this but if it leads coke to do the same and it is actually ends up tasting like mexicoke i'll be happy
