It's been about 3 months since straight talk stopped offering new sim cards for the att network. but for people who already have att network straight talk, how is it working today?

Are you guys being throttled after certain MB usage, is the service still usable?

I'm thinking about buying 2 ST sim cards off ebay and saying good bye (well sort of) to ATT.

Mine works same as always.

And #2... you are going to pay $50-100 for the ST SIMs?

That is a bad idea because
#1 You can get a Nokia E71 for $20 and it gives you an ATT sim that can be swapped to any phone (you just have to cut it to microSIM size).
Either from eBay, CL, or direct from ST

and #2
ST is changing their APN settings for all new subscribers to the net10 APN. So you will probably be governed by the same rules as net10...
Check straighttalksim.com and the support section for ATT settings, the APN is now tfdata it used to be att.mvno. tfdata and the rest is what net10 uses.

net10 SIMs are $1 for like 10 on eBay or free if you buy from callingmart with a $50 refill.

You might as well buy the net10 SIM for $1 and get the same service.

thanks man, you saved me about $120 bucks. Although i couldn't get the freesim coupon to work i ordered net10 sim cards as well as 2 monthly plans from callingmart. I'm going to try the service with my contract first since mine is expired. If it's adequate in a few months my wife's contract will be up too and we can ditch ATT for good! looks like we'll be using our galaxy s2 and iphone 4s for the forseeable future lol.

its nuts how much cheaper these carriers are. After taxes and everything, and even with a 25% discount, i'm paying $125 for 2 phones, one for an iphone with grandfathered unlimited data and one for a "dumbphone" with unlimited data for a non smartphone plan ($15/mo). well, my dumbphone got upgraded to a smartphone by att's standards and that will up my bill by another $15 at least. so for a net 10 family plan you are paying $85/month for unlimited everything, and with att we have 500 shared minutes with unlimited / 3gb data for roughly $140 a month. Going to net10 should theoretically save my $660 a year. I can buy a brand new phone with the money i save! i've also looked at my data usage and i barely go over 300mb a month, even when i'm traveling.

Freesim coupon worked for me with the $50 monthly plan just now. You probably picked a family plan or something else?

Also callingmart usually posts coupons for refills on their facebook page at the beginning of the month. Look for those when you refill. I just checked and the net10 one was 7% off.
