peoplepedia: would it work?

So I was thinking - what about a wikipedia, except its just for people? Every human being on the face of the earth can have a wiki page.... would it work?

One of the major reasons that Wikipedia's "notability" rules are useful is that articles that are not especially notable generally get little traffic and little attention. This means that a single individual, particular a determined and malicious individual, can essentially control the content of the article. A group of like-minded individuals can be even more effective.

If you have a page about some guy in Topeka, and he doesn't personally take an interest in it, that is unlikely to be a high-quality result. You might get some very creative insults though.

Wikipedia (with currently less than 3 million articles) already can't really contain its vandalism problem, and biographies, especially those of living people, are among the most common vandalism targets. Multiplying the article count by 2,000 and making it basically all biographies of living persons could create... issues.
