People with Homeowner's insurance

Mill

Lifer
What are you paying, where are you located, and what is the value you are insured to? Hell, what is your deductible?

I'm not sure people feel all that comfortable giving out that information.

I'd rather not have people know how much insurance I'm carrying.

Yeah, that's kinda personal. Besides I live in a hurricane prone area so my rates are higher than someone in the Midwest.

i don't own a house, right now

we are starting to look (north of Kansas City ~25 miles), rates in this area for houses in our price range seem to be ~$300/yr (~$150k)

i will get a high deductible, like $1000, since most insurance companies these days will drop you if you make any small claims anyway, so having a low deductible makes no sense

I don't see how homeowner's is anymore personal than the hundreds of car insurance threads we have had.

I pay $646/yr with a $1k deductible on Long Island. I won't get into how much is covered though... but it's more than enough.

Off the top of my head its around $350 a year, insured for around $65k, and live in Wv the cheap housing state. Can't remember what my deductible is.

I am not forcing you to either. Why make such a big deal about it? Why even post? If you don't want to say then don't! Sheesh.

Thanks to all that have replied, I appreciate it.

I pay about $200 a year, I think I have a $500 deductible, not sure how much the insurance is for, at least $150k.
