Yep, depending on the work you do; that kind of setup is crucial. I actually have four (4) 19" Viewsonic LCD's on my desk but I need to see over the top of my monitors! ;).

My Technicians have Dual LCD setups.

I wouldnt say crucial....its wierd...last summer they all just had like a pod of monitors around them (roughly 8) and now its like...double stacked! I dont know if they can control the stuff on the top monitors or not...never tried, Im assuming its more quote feeds and offers and what not, and they control the program they use on the bottom 2. It just does look sweet having 4 of the same monitors so close together making one big one!

I often have my editors up on one monitor, and terminals up on the other.
Documentation/google on another virtual desktop.

If I'm working a web app, code will be on one side, and a browser on the other.

I use dual monitors at work sometimes... keep my work software up on one, and Outlook up on the other...

Getting 650 emails per work day really adds up... :(

My second window runs Trillian, Task Manager, my temp monitoring program, and usually a web page or two. I had to tone it down recently since I went to a 15" LCD as the second monitor from my 21" CRT that used to be there. I got tired of that 75 lb beast on my desk.

i saw a guy who somehow hooked up eight monitors to a PC. what he did was mount the monitors into a wall, and he had pictures set up on it so that it look like he was looking out into SF Bay or off a beach or something. it was amazing.

I always did full screen video. I ultimately found it useless and sold the second monitor.
