Does your remote chew threw batteries?

Specifically the DVR-501/510 model remote.

Mine requires new batteries like 2 months.
Is this common ?

Not to mention this POS requires 4 AAA batteries.
Why can't it just require 2 AA :p

I've had my DVR-501 for over a year and haven't replaced the batteries yet. Granted I don't watch a lot of tv, and just flip through 4 or 5 channels.

hum.. maybe something is wrong with the remote.
I use it pretty frequently but such a short battery life span is unacceptable.

I've had my 501 for about 6 months now and I'm still on the original batteries.

I have two standard recievers the 322 and a 301. After 3 years I've replaced the batteries maybe 2 times. Just using some cheap dollar store batteries.

I've only had Dish since March 1 but the original batteries are still in the remote.

I have the 500 series in my bedroom and the 900 in the living room. Battery life is long with each.
