What temps are you getting?

mine is ideling at 64C and goes to as much as 83C or so. I feel like this is causing ALOT of artifacting and even BSODs. Just curious as to what other peoples temps are to see if it is the temp or not.

And i cant even clean the damn thing, its a BFG 6800GT OC and there is no removable plate to get to the HS.

thanks

I sold mine a few months ago, but that's quite normal. Mine would idle around 65C and load at 85-90C depending on the game. That was after I cleaned off the stock thermal crap and reseated the HSF with AS5 (it was getting up to 105C and starting to crash/artifact before that; afterwards it was fine even at 90C though). I wouldn't really worry about those temperatures. Also, I'm unfamiliar with the BFG heatsink but I'm assuming it's a different design from the stock/reference Nvidia one, so I won't be of any help for you trying to take it off :p

Mine used to go to 85C or so when I had it. If you have the version with the dual 40mm fan cooler (which is what I had), it's comparable to the reference cooler but louder.

I've said this before and I'll say it again because I love to say it:

"The 6800GT is notorious for having high temps"

I put a NV Silencer on mine and it help tremendously. Don't remeber exact temps, but it dropped loaded temp by >10C.
