Yard sales are the last bastion of bargaining in this country, so what? Consider it practice for when you travel someday.

Youre crazy man. I've haggled at circuit city, best buy, video only and compusa. My crowning achievement was talkin the guy at 7-11 in to knckong half price off a can of wasabi peas so I could try em. NO ONE HAGGLES 7-11!!!!

Honestly, you're a rookie shopper if you ever make a larger purchase at those stores (cept for 7/11) and don't haggle. At the very least, you can normally get them to include a service plan for free.

indeed i went to buy a EOS 400D from a professional camera store. i said if i pay full asking price in cash right now ill buy it so long as i get the last sandisk UltraIII CF card and a Hoya UV filter to go on the lens, even got a free bag as part of the deal as well.

it was still £500 in total but i saved about £40 on the card and filter

You can often come out better if you just get Deduction Pro and take everything to Goodwill. Those shirts you sold for a dollar apiece are probably worth twelve bucks each as a charitable donation, so depending on your tax situation, you may very well make more money just donating it and itemizing it on your taxes. It takes just a few minutes to put everything in the software, then drive and drop off and get a receipt. Faster than standing around haggling with people over fifty cents.
