People who rip whole albums to one file

DUMB! Do it for yourself, but don't share. The files are too big for many, many people, and it's harder to find the songs you want when it's all one big file.

It's really a big pain to download FREE music these days, isn't it?

I'm a smart ass too! Actually I've not come across this yet, i always assumed those big files were videos or something.

2: To one file? like a zip?

LOL gee, thanks for the 1 you gave me. All because I pointed out that you have the time to complain about people not giving you free music in the format that you wanted it in.

Complaining about not pirating music in your preferred method? Hmmph.

I'm sorry, but we have the right to be smartasses.

I wish. When you live in the middle of nowhere, that's not always a possbility. I can't even get cable TV.

I have RR cable modem. That's doesn't always mean (actually it rarely means) that I can connect with someone at high speed. Most of my peer2peer downloads are excruciatingly slow. But that was not really the point.

no, one big .mp3 file. for some reason i occasionally see entire albums ripped to one big .mp3.

Me too! Bitch, bitch, bitch!

Hey, that one file per album thing sounds like a novel idea. I'll be sharing a lot more from now on. Coming soon: Look for my files on Morpheus and Gnutella.

😀😀😀 ha ha ha

just because someone gave you a one doesn't mean it was me. nice try.

i do wish some of you rightously indignant people would find another thread to be rightously indignant in. 🙂

What was it you said before? Let me think.... oh yes! I believe it was something along the lines of: "DUMB! Do it for yourself, but don't share."

If it is a full mix or a live album I rip them as one file. You don't like it then buy the album and rip it yourself.

That one album file may actually have a special wrapper around it that lets you break it apart into individual files automatically. There's some utility that does it. Sorry about the lack of details since my memory is wasted, but somebody else should know what I am talking about.

I gave you a one before you disabled your ratings, jobberd is right. Go ahead and give me a one, I don't give a flying fork 🙂

<< All my Pink Floyd mp3's are one file. That is because, when I listen to Pink Floyd, I listen to a whole album. >>

Glad to see I'm not the only one to do that, it's the only way to listen to Pink Floyd.

🙂

i like to download some albums like that

i only have to find it ONCE (for instance, type in artist name, then album name, then sort by size, then only have one transfer going instead of the 15 i'd have to have from 15 different people)

cooledit can split them if you want. Most times i listen to my headphones at work, and if it's an artist i've only heard a song or 2 of, i snag it like that to check out the entire album... if i don't like it, i can always rip out the few songs i do like
