do you just turn the heat up every night?

if you lots of blankets how do you keep your head warm, because i wouldn't be able to sleep with a blanket over my head.

who wants it to be hot when they sleep? i prefer it cooler.

No, at night the heat usually goes down a few degrees. You simply use a couple of blankets. As for your head getting cold, I haven't noticed it. Of course, I still have hair on top of my head. 🙂

What does "cold" mean to you?

I sleep far, far better at 60°F than at 70°F. So in both the summer and winter I turn down the temperature so I can sleep like a baby. At sleeping temperatures of 80°F I burn up, sweat under my back, the mattress is a hot damp sponge, and I can't ever get cool. I can't see how people can sleep like that. But they do.

When it is really cold, I let myself get freezing cold and then I jump into a soft bed with cozy comforter and tuck it in so I won't ever want to get out. To me that is a heck of a lot better than tossing and turning with legs out of the sheets just so some sweat can evaporate enough so I don't go into heat convulsions. I want to be in a situation where I WANT to be in the bed not where I WANT to be out of the bed and in a cold shower just to stop the heat exhaustion. Cool is the only way to have that.

I sleep better when it's cold. All snuggled up under the blankets with the SO. Minus the SO since I'm some random ATOT geek.

you get used to the cold

One time I at my parents house, there were a bunch of family members staying over, so I opted to sleep in the roughed in attic. I could see my breath!! I had 3 comforters over me and slept like a baby, it was great

I turn the heat DOWN to 58'F. I sleep with a sheet and a light blanket over me. I still wake up hot (mostly because my wife gets cold, and has to sleep close 🙂).

Pa usually takes a piping hot coal out of the fire, puts it in a bucket, and puts it at the foot of the bed.

I prefer it cold and open all the windows -- I have slept above the sheets in just shorts before when it is 25F - seriously.

Although lately, that is too much and I find myself using the sheets when I lie down, sometimes even pulling them up while asleep, unless it is above 50 or so. Guess I am getting old.

Try an electric blanket and maybe some insulation in your house. Not everyone in the midwest and northern reaches lives in a shack.

Maybe you haven't heard.
There is this really cool new invention called a heater.
It actually makes it possible for people to keep their houses EXACTLY the same temperature in the winter whether they live in North Dakota or Arizona. :Q

Hmm, I live in Finland (=COLD) and my room temperature is constant 20C... Maybe I'm missing something??? 😕

im in upstate NY, used to live in maine, i just sleep with a down comforter, thats it, i usially open a window at hight to make it colder, its usially around 60F in my room when i wake up in the morning, i cant stand it being hot when i sleep
