people who have played Baldur's Gate II & the expansion pack

I just bought a package with BG2 with the expansion pack. Do you have to play through BG2 and finish it and then install the expansion pack? Is it better to install them at the same time?

I've never played a game with an expansion pack, so I'm not sure what's the best way to play it.

Hey dude, I just installed BGII as well, and i'm holding off on the expansion until I'm done the original. There is an "add-in" bit to the TOB that gives you some new dungeon in SOA, but generally TOB starts after SOA, so I am not going to bother installing TOB until I done SOA.

I'm still way in the beginning on SOA cuz 'm just taking my time and playing with leisure. I love these D&D games.......

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing the same. I actually played BG2 before (but not the expansion) when it came out, but I don't remember much about it.

install both. the xpack has some improvements to the game as a whole.

install both of them. I would prefer to go to Watcher's Keep once I have finshed SoA first though.
