People who double-click on html links

I just felt like complaining. People I work with do it all the time. I don't feel like its appropriate for me to correct them on it but it annoys me.

They also point at stuff on my screen and leave greasy smudges.

1. Suck it up and let them continue to be stupid

2. Keep a pair of pruning shears handy (pun intended) next time an errant finger approaches your screen

It's called "computer ineptitude". In some states you're allowed to kill for it. 😛

Seriously, tell them to stop touching your monitor. That's bad.

That doesn't bother me nearly as much as who double click really slow, or miss one of the double clicks because they move the mouse...then look at me and say "Its not loading."

Maybe develop a little tolerance? How does this affect you in the slightest?
(By the way, I double-clicked on your thread link).

my boss does that all the time. then he does it again and gets mightily pissed at the computer. eventually going on a tirade about how "they" messed up his computer. it was comical the first time though.

*shrug* My mom worked with (and taught) basic Mac stuff for a few years; she learned on Mac and she's only recently started using a PC/the internet in general, so I'm not too rude about it. Just force of habit.

I hear you, same thing at my work. Also bugs me when my parents do it at home. What's worse is my friend who thinks it's ok to poke my $900 LCD.

It's another one of those fad diets 😛

I take vitamins to support my low click diet (read: lifestyle)

I'm putting a clicky mojo curse on you by incessantly clicking on your avatar like it's an e-voodoo doll.

How's that feel beeyotch?

That's because computers are inconsistent like that. Why can't we just single click everything? We single click buttons and just about everything in the browser, but we double click on icons? The interfaces are different and that's why people get confused.

On the web, we hover to select and display information and we single click to open. On the desktop, we click to select and view information and double click to open. Why?
