my bros friend has a 650 duron on an abit kt7a...and he doesnt want to overclock...ack...annoys me cause i know he should be able to get to 900 easily...one day imma go over to his and clock his puter while he's gone...
 
If he doesn't need the speed right now, then don't do it. Use the chip as long as you can. Overclocking takes life off of the CPU. I'm not going to OC until I need to. For the time being, I'll enjoy my 3 Year warranty along with extended CPU life.

It's not your machine, so don't mess with it.

Just o/c his rig and tell him you installed a faster cpu that you found "for real cheap"(read: free since it's already inside his computer)
