People who don't leave feedback after you have paid

This goes for ebay, this site and all others. I just received an email wondering when I will leave feedback, and I have yet to receive my item and I paid as soon as the auction was over, yet they have not left me feedback yet. Douchebags

They are waiting to make sure that once you receive it you aren't going to be a douchebag and leave crappy feedback.

I don't expect sellers to leave feedback the instant I pay, but I've had at least 5 not even leave return feedback after I've left positives.

I hate that. They get their end of things (payment) but then won't leave you feedback unless you leave them feedback. Pains.. I usually just say, I paid you, your end is done, leave me feedback and I'll get back to you when I get the item.

I don't expect either side to give feedback until the transaction is 100% complete (payment AND item have both been recieved). Once it is complete, both sides should give feedback irregardless of the other.

I only leave feedback once I receive and inspect the item. I usually receive feedback right after they receive payment though. (this only goes for buying stuff, I've yet to sell anything on eBay or the like..)

regardless

Well, whenever I sell something, I generally leave feedback as soon as I receive payment. I'm honest and have nothing to hide, and don't expect to have to use that feedback as leverage against an unhappy buyer.

On the other hand, as a buyer, it doesn't bother me unless that transaction is 100% complete and I have left feedback as well. I have about 10-15 people to this day who have not left me feedback on ebay...

I have had AT users not give me heat, I have had ebay users not give me feedback, after I give them feedback in both cases. It sucks but you can't force them to.

The transaction isn't over until the customer is satisfied with the purchase. I never leave feedback first when I sell.

I don't think it's leverage, it's just practicality. If the buyer makes unreasonable demands or had misread the description and gets all pissy, you don't want to have already left a positive feedback.

Whoops, this reminded me I forgot to leave darkstar757 some feedback! Don't be mad, I'll do it now. 🙂

Therein lies the biggest problem with feedback/eval systems.
Nobody wants to be first!

If I sell, I leave as soon as possible after getting paid.
If I buy, I try to leave feedback as soon as the item is received and tested, based on my formula:
Good communication, prompt shipping, and good service, I'll leave first.
Poor communication, slow shipping, etc., I will not leave first. I'll do without any feedback on my part.

But in all fairness, the rule of thumb should be that whomever gets their end of the deal first should be the first to post feedback!

I don't care if they leave feedback or not when I am buying or selling as long as everything went smoothly.
I always wait until the other party leaves me a feedback first though.

I think its only fair if you leave feedback after the whole transaction has completed. Thats the whole idea of feedback in my opinion -- to leave some sort of "Grade" based on what you feel was the evaluation of the entire buy/sell process. I wouldn't think of leaving feedback until about 3 days after receiving and using the product to make sure it isnt damaged.

I thought you give feedback after the transaction is over. If I am the seller I wait until the other person gets the item (inspects) and the buyer leaves feedback first and vice versa.

you will eventually run into an individual on ebay who is truely beyond reason.
and then you will get slammed with a negative feedback without knowing exactly why.
After that you might feel differently.
