Most of the sellers with a lot of feedbacks have some pretty neat automated
systems that do a good job of keeping the buyer informed. But some of
the bigger sellers are big on volume and small on service also. In order to
do 7000 ebay transactions you either have to been on there forever and a day
or move a lot of volume.

I just bought some HP print cartridges on Ebay and the guy had 250 positives
and I paid within 2 minutes after the end of the auction and never did get a
reply to any of my emails but low and behold I had the cartridges within 4 business
days of the end of the auction but never did get a reply. He did leave me feedback
after I left his 🙂

I would have left neutral feedback in a situation like that.

why? just because the guy didnt talk to you? HE GOT THE ITEM. sheesh and in a timely manner.

damn people just need there ego stroked.

Their ego stroked 🙂

I left positive for him.....no need for a neutral because he did ship quickly but
I do wonder why he never acknowledged that I had paid him. I've got over
800 positives myself but I'm never surprised as to what some of these sellers
do 🙂

When I sell something on Ebay I usually try and get things done ASAP. I'll EMail the buyer at least an hour after the auction ends and if payment comes through immediatly I'll ship it out the next day.

It most certainly IS a garage sale. Yesterday I was about to throw some stuff in the trash. I thought better of it. 24 hours later, my trash is worth $15 and counting.
Yeah, this weekend I went to my parents' place and helped them clean out the garage. We didn't nearly get through it all, but we found a remarkable collection of stuff. I kept telling them "that'll sell on eBay", "oo, those go for a lot on eBay", etc. etc. Some of it is really old and obviously expensive too.

eBay rocks. 😛

Anyway, calm down Beavis. With 7000+ feedback I'm guessing his mailbox isn't sparsely populated.

yes but you most likely don't move the type of volume that these other guys do

Pay the money and wait for your thing. If you expect service then go pay for it at newegg, amazon, or any other established venue. eBay is a garage sale, nothing more.

If it was like a garage sale, you'd get your product simultaneously with payment.

AND that's how you get a good feedback rating folks 🙂

I don't expect a reply right away but within 2-4 days would be nice. When im giving MY money to someone for something I bought off them I expect an email atleast saying they received the payment and will ship the item. Any type of acknowledgement is appreciated. Otherwise I sit there wondering for 2 weeks if they ever got the payment or shipped it... It doesnt take more than 30 seconds to say "i got your payment.. shipped item today"

Yep same, i dont leave negative feedback unless i didnt get what i was supposed to get in a standard period of time. I have left neutrals for making me wait over 10 days for shipping when it was stated they would send as soon as they got payment and they didnt. And they retaliated and called me a liar and left a negative... I had the post stamp from the package.. it was definitely more than 10 days from the auction date 🙂

I have left only a few negative feedbacks. There was a string of 13 I left when I ordered $36 worth of Magic: The Gathering cards from someone in Tampa Bay and never got them. He didn't respond and had a couple instances of doing this before on his feedback, but just enough to knock him down to a 94% feedback rating. After that guy I've refused to do non-PayPal transactions across the country, unless there's a way I can freeze whatever method I use to send my payment.

The other time was another Magic: The Gathering related auction, this time for what was listed as a "Beta CE Veteran Bodyguard" in the title. I was unsure what CE was, but it didn't mention anything in the body of the auction and the picture looked legit. When I got the card I was pissed; it turns out it was from Collector's Edition (hence the CE) which makes it illegal to use in play, not to mention the card edges are square instead of rounded -- which was not shown in the auction picture -- and the back of the card is different. I left a negative pointing out that "Collector's Edition is not Beta; saying "Beta" in the name is false advertising." I'm glad I didn't pay a lot for the card.

I won and paid for an item and in 3 minutes the buyer already left me positive feedback. How's that for fast.

how ironic. After anxiously waiting for feedback on my first ever ebay purchase (bought thursday, sent email, got reply this morning), the postman just arrived at my door with the box 😀

Hi, my name's Yuki, and I'm an addict. 😛

~$2000 worth of cards... I've been playing a long time I guess.

The guy sent it this morning. I got an email with nothing other than a tracking #.

fscker. If it's a business, then that's poor service, (service I PAID for, btw)

If it's just a person selling crap, then that's ridiculous. HE put an auction up, and HE is making the profit. I'm doing HIM a favor; not the other way around.

Arg.

It should be here monday. fedex ground from cali to atlanta.

Most power sellers have automated system..

I just purchased a Adams Redline Ti Driver on late Sunday night. Paid using Paypal.
It was shipped on Monday morning. Just received the Driver at lunchtime.. Took less than 3 days to get the Driver..

Gotta love Ebay...

eh, I doubt it. I got an email from him saying his email has been down for 4 days, and that he shipped it 6/14 via fedex saver. I bought arctic silver from newegg 6/16 am and it got here today. I checked the tracking number and it shows him dropping the package off 6/16 via fedex ground from cali. So... it should be here monday. And he lied about when he shipped it, and probably lied about his email.
