I work in a computer lab on campus to help offset my tuition.

Dude comes in needs help with Dreamweaver and updating a web site. I get with in 6ft of him and can smell him "the odor is so strong that breathing through the mouth does not help". Mind you to assist him I have to sit right beside him. 1st of all this guy bit off more than he could chew he has no clue of what hes doing and, was trying to get me to do it which I flat out tell him I wont and it not my job to do so After about an hour of telling him he does not have the correct info to access the site to update it he leaves. 3 hours later I still cant get the taste of that odor out of my mouth, it was that strong. Mind you after he left my boss walked out of his office which was around the corner asking what the hell that smell was.

End of my rant.

Does anybody else here have to deal with this type of situation as it happens quite often here.

EDIT for more info

This guy was not sweaty he stunk for lack of hygiene.

Uhg. The last flight I had from Chicago to Phoenix I had to sit behind an Indian family. Mother of God. It was HORRIBLE. You know during boarding when they don't have the AC turned on and there's zero airflow going on? Yeh. It was bad. Real bad. There was like this festering cloud of stink lingering around where they were sitting. I was directly behind them and it was so bad I got a head ache from it and it made me gag a few times.

Fsck culture. YOU SMELL!

You could leave a can of deodorant or air freshener on his desk with a note containing some not-so-polite adjectives regarding his apparently lacking personal hygiene. :p

Or, you could just have a bottle of Febreeze on your desk and just squirt them with it when they walk in.

The next time he comes in, fart freely (if you don't already do so). Then see if he has anything to say to you.

Deodorant is good for preventing smell when you're sweating. If you're stinknig jsut walking around it's not due to lack of deodorant, but lack of bathing. I could walk around all day with out deodorant and no one would smell me, unless I started working out or something.

Once you sweat, you'll stink. Most people will sweat under their arms with hardly any physical activity.

This is why men NEED an antipersperant/deoderant.

Hehe...one of my teammates is chronically stinky. Getting stuck drafting him in the middle of the peloton is the worst. thing. ever.

Maybe fat, out-of-shape people. None of the healthy people I know would get sweaty walking across an air conditioned computer lab and worknig in Dreamweaver.

Actually, when I got into shape I started sweating MORE than I did when I was out of shape.

But that's neither here nor there. The fact is, some people sweat more than others. Some will remain moist in their pits even when doing very little.

There's truth to this. Your body gets more efficient at sweating over time if you're really into aerobic exercise. You do anything moderately strenuous, and your body assumes it's in for a three-hour haul and cranks up the sweat pumps.

I get sweaty eating dinner if the house isn't freezing.

I don't know what it is, but when I drive, my pits sweat LIKE CRAZY! If I'm driving for 4 hours straight, from my pit all the way about 3/4 down the side of shirt is just drenched. And I always have the AC cranked as cold as it can go..so it's not a heat thing.

You too? LOL, my GF looks at me like I'm a loony when I sweat while eating something warm on a warm day.

Not only will I sweat with even the most moderate exercise now, when I do work out, I look like I'm taking a shower... I'm so soaked and dripping.

BTW, one way to keep your sweat less stinky is to stay away from onions and garlic (even garlic pills can make your sweat stinky). Peppers do it too.

It's a stress thing. Learn some anti stress exercises that you can do while driving.

Dreamweaver is hardly "moderately strenuous."

Yes, but like Vi pointed out, some people can pit sweat like crazy while under stress.

I sweat so much when I'm actually out riding that my shorts and jersey have salt rings on them when I get home. It's pretty gross. :p

For whatever reason, I don't really stink no matter how sweaty I get (and I eat a lot of onions/garlic). Just one of those things, I guess.

Hmm I always thought there was some correlation b/t fitness and sweating. I'm in the best shape of my life but I sweat like crazy. It's embarressing - I get so hot after my showers (I've literally tried taking the last 5 minutes of the shower in all cold water) that I have to cool off in front of a fan for about 5-10 minutes to avoid sweating. Not just in the summer either  During the winter sometimes I just go outside without a shirt on for 5 minutes :( It's also rather embarressing on leg day - my shirt gets soaked to the bone.

Yes, but like Vi pointed out, some people can pit sweat like crazy while under stress.

IamElectro needs to come back in here and clarify whether or not he was sweaty or just smelly in general.
