Personally, this is my biggest peeve. People stading right next to me chewing gum right in my ear, slurping, squishing, smacking (and not the good kind!). It fills me with murderous rage. So, what'll it be?

I think you need to take a chill pill. Who cares if they do, you need to tune that kind of stuff out. There are far more important things to worry about then some person chewing gum or chewing with their mouth open.

chewing with your mouth isn't incredibly annoying, UNLESS you make that loud a** god awful smacking noise while you're doing it :|

This has to be my biggest pet peeve as well. I had a roomate that did this, I had to leave the room every time he ate something or I think I would have killed him.

If they are foolish enough to chew with their mouth open, stuff something in there that doesn't taste good! :)

Cheers!

I find this to be one of the most hideous and disgusting habits ever. Smacking, squishing, squashing- anything that remotely sounds like you are eating in the manner of wild animals. It is even worse when fat people do this, it drives me crazy. It is makes me want to vomit!

Heh whenever I eat around my sister, I ALWAYS eat with my mouth open on purpose just because it always annoys the crap out of her. Other than that, I wouldn't be caught dead chewing with my mouth open. It's disgusting, after all! Even when I'm eating by myself I keep my mouth closed.

I remember sitting at lunch across from a guy at work complaining about seeing people picking their noses in other cars while going down the road and all the while this guy is eating with his mouth wide open. I started laughing so hard I couldn't even eat.

Its a pretty big pet peve for me too.

If I met this really hot girl that was into me but she chewed with her mouth open I wouldn't hit on her.

it's not the fact that they chew with their mouth open, but it's the sound they make while chewing with their mouth open. everytime someone does that, it drives me nuts.

yes, noisy eaters are kinda nasty, but it's natural for some people to eat whichever way... i still find it annoying sure, but at the same time i know it's something that ultimately you choose to find annoying or if you can block it out.

then if you say people should display more manners and reflect the attributes of civilized society, you look at the Japanese, who are mad civilized and well mannered, and they slurp proudly when eating udon.

but then again you don't hear noises when it comes to them eating everything, just udon, so as to cool it since you eat it really hot, and enjoy all the flavors.

Bite me. You're lucky I'm not still smoking and blowing that in your face.

Ugh I used to have a coworker who used to do this. Not only did he eat noisily, but he ordered the same Chinese take-out, this strong-smelling dish, and eat it noisily at his desk every freaking day. Thing is, it never bothered me until one day another coworker and I were talking about the guy asked me if I noticed and how she can't stand how Eric eats. I said no, but ever since she pointed it out I started noticing the smacking noises and it gradually began to grate on my nerves. I eventually had to quit that job.:p

Drives me insane. Like many other people have said, it's not the fact that I can see the food in their mouth, which is pretty gross, it's the smacking sound they make everytime they chew. My roommate does it all the time. I try to avoid eating with him as much as possible because it bothers me so much. When he eats in the room, I always put on my headphones.
