All the time, much easier to backup this way (two dvd's hold my critical files vs about a dozen cdrs). Can't wait until blue laser devices drop in price and become available.

My brother uses his to burn his anime series. Usually one per dvd, or maybe two. (depending on # of eps). Considering he bought a 4x for 130, it seems to be paying for itself. And once a month backing up important data is a plus too.

I use it with a DVD+RW to backup my files.

Otherwise, it's just DVD Decrypter + dvd2one ;):wine:

Yes, and yes. I have four DVD burners. 1 standalone for the home theatre, 1 for work, and 2 others at home. (I don't really need two for home, but one's for a Mac and one's for a Windows box.)

well, since the format wars aren't over yet (+ vs -), a safe bet would be the Sony burner that goes both ways ;)

i've been perfectly happy with my rebadged Pioneer 4X DVD-RW

Anyone know anything on the burner that supports the 20 gig blank dvd discs? It's supposedly supports the same media that movies come on. My friend told me something about this, but don't know what it's called or what info to look for. thanks.

i think you're talking about the Blu-Ray (sp?) discs. Sony just released on in Japan, I think.

edit: Sony press release

edit2: Sony Blu-ray DVD recorder

I can't get mine to work! Whenever I try to burn in Nero it doesn't seem to want to burn. :( And I don't feel like paying for another burning program.
