Death by public stoning would be too good for the attorneys who bring these frivolous lawsuits.

The cost of all of life's necessities is increased every time one of these assinine lawsuits gets the seal of approval by a jury of insipid morons.

"Death to them all, death to them all, I say. Let the righteous who take responsibililty for their actions rise up and smite the attorneys, the plaintiffs and, yea, even the subliterate juries who give credence to these moral atrocities!"

I definately agree that this country needs tort reform.

You have forgotten the biggest group of blamers. Who are they? They are the cultural Taliban. These are the people, like those who have piled in here to say ditto to the rubbish listed in the primary post. Ahahahahaha. These are the blame the blamers. Yes, it's the perpetrators is all manner of social and moral iniquity that are the real victims, the blamers about being blamed. Yes, they are the people that life has passed by, the culturally backward, the dinosaurs whose morality, propounded in the Dark Ages has been shed like an old dinosaur skin by the advancing world. Listen to them whine and pine for the days when you could go out and be the worlds largest asshole and nobody said a word because the guy next door was just the same. Yup, the modern world has the property that where people are tightly packed, in the cities along the coasts, life is accelerating at a breathtaking pace, leaving millions of stogy old codgers grumbling in their primitive compounds across the heartland. Not a problem really. The mechanized farms will take out this trash eventually. In the mean time, blame the blamers; in the twilight of your age you blamers need a hobby.

wow, this one does make sense🙂

Then perhaps you could net it out for those of us with a lesser education.

Cyberian, I was hoping I have lesser education than you. I been trying my whole adult life to unlearn everything I was ever taught. My Dad used to complain to me that he taught me everything he know and I didn't know anything. Of course my dad was smarter than your average yogi.

Think about it. Here we are neffin' about how all the faults of the world and/or our country are from the people who are blaming others for their own failts instead of taking personal responsibility. Ironic, eh? The rest of Moonie's post was pure drivel and fluff without substance, but his posts usually are like that. A single point contained within 500 words of nonsense.

"IMO- this is the biggest problem in this country right now but will only change one person at a time from within. Not with any legislation."

So, you won't mind if we go ahead and tweak the system a bit, eh? I mean, what harm can it do if legislation can't effect it? Funny, folks in Europe are the same as us, yet their courts aren't full of this BS. Why do you suppose that is?

Not really funny, thier are reasons for it. They have professional jurors (3 judges usually) deciding cases. Also they have jail time for execs who break the law instead of fined (like in germany if you knowingly work someone over 35 hours a week you can be jailed). They also have looser pays which curtails a lot of frivilous suits.

The proposal your link favors (limits on punitive damages) will be very good for big business and bad for the consumers. They can make a cost benefit analysis on every product they decide to take a shortcut on because they know in advance thier what thier liability is going to be. In other words the the Explorers would still have Firestones.
