People Using NERO BURNING ROM..... this happen to you?

Spooner

Lifer
So I've uninstalled stupid Adaptec because I was havin all sorts of problems with it cutting off songs and stuff.

Well, I've installed Nero 5.5 and IT is cutting off some songs too.... like when I drag the mp3 over to the recording list.... it lists the duration as less than the whole song.

What's up with that? Could it be my system? I'm runnin win2k pro

Has anyone else had this issue?

yes - i know this question probably belongs in another forum.... but my fingers just won't let me travel beyond ATOT 😉

I think when the program converts the file, if it encounters a fault it just quits converting at that point. Maybe listen to the song and see if you can hear a glitch in the song at that point. To get around it, either download a different uncorrupted version of the song, or use a separate program to convert it .wav before adding it to the cd.

I might be wrong tho!

that's really annoying, though.... and would be considered a big glitch in the program if that is true.

Secondary question: is there a way in Nero to get rid of the gaps between songs? I know in Adaptec simply selecting "Disc at Once" made it so there were no pauses between songs.

I think that's exactly correct. Although whenever I have a corrupt mp3 (or, maybe not a "corrupt" mp3... just one where the stream isn't constant), Nero warns me beforehand. And sometimes it burns only part of the song, sometimes it doesn't burn the song at all.

Yes, the remedy is to go find another version of the song.

i believe (been awhile since i burned a audio cd) after you drag the mp3 u want to burn, all you do is right click and choose properties.. that's where you can remove the 2 sec gap or whatever it is.

The song length issue can probably be fixed by converting the mp3 to wav using winamp's Diskwriter plugin. In winamp, hit ctrl+p and go to output and choose diskwriter plug-in, then play the songs in winamp (with the equalizer OFF) and you will have shiny new WAV files that you can probably burn perfectly.

For the gaps in nero, choose to burn it as disc-at-once. then when all the files are loaded, highlight them all, right click and go to properties. change the 2 second gap to 0 and it should be fine. you can't change the setting for the very first track though.

Yeah yeah... i know about all that... but the whole point of these newer burning programs is that you didn't have to convert the damn things to WAV. If I was going to go through all that trouble, I'd rather re-download the song. What a pain in the ass. So nobody knows a better fix?

Yeha... tried doing that, but it won't let you highlight them all and change all the 2 second gaps to 0. you'd have to right click each friggin track and change it manually. Is there another way?

Nero is beginning to piss me off... thought this was supposed to be better than Adaptec/Roxio?

Well, I heard that it was a 'feature' added to napster, to please record companies.. If you listen closely to the MP3's, you will hear a slight skip at the exact time the song gets cut off on the burnt CD.

I think this was done to start discouraging people from using napster.

yea it happens on certain songs for me though

like r.kelly's fiesta remix
creed- my sacrifice

I checked the .wav files and nothing wrong with them. just the buring software i guess.
