i have 0.6.1 and the search bar is right next to the url box

Hmm. One more problem - I have Logitech KB software that I use, so when I press a button it loads up AT. However when I now press the button it does nothing - so how do I make it work with FBird? If I change it to run the executable, how would I pass variables in the command line to run FBird with the URL forums.anandtech.com?

the plug-ins faq link in the links bar tells you how to install flash/pdf

thats not the sidebar. in mozilla 1.3 if you search google it opens up up a sidebar on the side that has links to all the results from the first page of your search, so you can go between them without going back to google.

Ad-blocking doesn't work with Proximitron and Fbird! 🙁 I get the advertisement banner on the left side again. :|

heh, I just decided to download mozilla FB because of this thread.... someone gave me the link and I overcame my laziness

I hate mozilla, it takes an awful slow time to create its instance plus the interface is dull. I've used IE mainly cuz it support CSS the best but now I'm an Opera fan. Faster browsing, faster neffing here with the quick reply, pop-up blocker and pretty interface. I use Opera on both WinXP and Linux.

Now i'm off to compile new 2.6 kernel .

Dumb or not, they're still the majority, at least from my webstats.

Correlation is not causation. Remember that IE captures not only the market of techies who know what they are doing and want to be running IE, but also the market of people who can barely turn on the computer. Since the other browsers require more knowledge to acquire them, they weed out the basic users from their user base. If Firebird or Mozilla or whatever were included in the basic build of machines then you'd see a lot more idiot users of those browsers.

Use this page to help set up your own ad blocking scheme. The only thing is that you have to create the UserContent.css file yourself.

While I'm at it any plugins i should install?

If you still want the google bar, despite the search box included, try this. It's a ported version of the bar.

I'm also a fan of Tabbrowser Extensions.

Where is the userContent.css file?

Also, try the mouse gestures for FB, it's pretty damn cool.

What sites refuse to work without IE? I know Buymusic.com, some of the Microsoft sites.... I use Firebird 99% of the time. But even with IE I kept Netscape around just in case IE wasn't working.

You have to create the file from scratch in your profile folder (although there is a "userContent-example.css in the folder that you can just rename).
