Telemarketer calls and says, "switch over to us we only cost, blah, blah dollars". I say, "no thanks I'm busy right now and don't have time to talk". She says, "Sir, it will only take a minute or two and you can save yourself and your family some money.". I say again, "Sorry, I have to go I'm about to eat". She says, "Sir, so you aren't interested in saving money?". I said, "Nope, not really".......Silence for a couple seconds and she says, "Ok, good bye".

If you had a brain with which to think and actually understood subtle humor, then yes it is slightly amusing. They assume nobody is going to say "Nope I don't want to save money, I like to spend more". Therefore she had nothing written down on her sheet with which to respond....hence the silence and the hanging up. It isn't as funny after I have to explain it.

I know it's labeled for use on dogs, but it works on annoying assholes who approach you to sell you things as well. Just tell the cops you felt threatened by them. 😀

For as long as you live people are going to be bugging you to buy stuff you aren't interested in. Nothing you can do about it is ever going to stop all of it. Block what you can and accept the rest as part of our capitalist society. Or, you can bust a blood vessel getting pissed every time someone calls or approaches you.
 
I finally have the nerve to just hang up on people now. Before I was too nice but these people are way too pushy and I just hang it up now.
 
People who don't see (or ignore) the "No Soliciting" signs posted at every entrance to the main area of the apartment complex annoy me. Thank god for peepholes.

Also, to whoever keeps leaving $#&*$&# Avon catalogs at our door, GET A CLUE. They still leave the damn things even if we don't bother to pick them up and let them lay on the patio and get soggy and trampled on. Next time, I'm going to impale the catalog on a stake and post it in front of the door.
 
I amuse myself at the telemarketers expense. It's fun to argue with them and do the math on the fly (especially since their claim that I'll save money usually means I get screwed in the long run).
Believe it or not, (and many of you won't), but I got a long distance company telemarketer to switch HER long distance phone service. This was back when dialpad was free. "Ummm, how can you promise that you have the cheapest rates? My long distance calls are all free." "really, how could they be free?" ....long explanation to her for 5 minutes about dialpad, followed by idle chit chat. She wanted me 😀
 
Ever try asking them to hold for a sec while you get a pen to take down some info? While they're waiting, go about your business and see how long before they'll hang up. At least if they're waiting for you to return they won't be bothering someone else.

I've often just tell them I'm not interested and hung up. Once in a while, when I have nothing better to do, I'll ask them to hold and check on my phone once in a while to see if they're still there.
 
Found a way to get ride of MCI and AT&T, tell them you are moving this week...(to Mexico)

3 cents a minute anywhere in the US and Canada.
