There is no way that cat was not abused. He is lying out his ass! I've picked up some strays that were clearly abused and they may not be the friendlies they were no where near this vicious!

Someone should shove that camera up his ass! :|

I've seen some pretty mean cats. The kitty at my daughter's mom's house hates men. Not to this extent, but I could see some cats being more aggressive than usual.

My friend's cat is the sweetest cat...to his wife only. Even he can hardly touch it (and they've been married longer than the cat's been alive). It's almost 30lbs and isn't just mean to guests, it stalks them and attacks. He had to shadow me everywhere I went in the house, even to the bathroom, to make sure the cat kept its distance.

BS, I've seen cats that vicious that were unprovoked.

We've had several cats that we had as kittens. We always treated them the same. Some cats ended up being extremely nice - all they wanted to do was come sit in your lap. A few cats were terrible. One of them was pure evil - worse than in that video. She would literally attack people. We ended up putting her to sleep after a couple years after she attacked my grandfather and he had to go to the hospital.

Most cats were somewhere in between, but some cats are naturally crazy.

I once had a Sylvester (Looney Tunes style) Halloween costume; my mom also had a set of black cat ears that she'd sometimes use for the same purpose.

Well anyway, the one cat we had at the time would utterly freak out when he saw a large, bipedal "cat" walk in the front door. Hissing, howling, carrying on, and then he'd just bolt and hide.

I also knew a cat that was mistreated - not so much abused violently, but severely neglected. She was kept locked in a small room, and her litter box was changed about every 1-2 months.
My parents agreed to adopt her out of that place; she was damn friendly, and tolerant. We gave her two baths to wash the stink out, and to fluff her back to normal cat standards. :) She didn't seem to care, purring the whole time, and just pretty much standing still during the washing.

Different cats, different personalities.

Oh, and one other thing - if the cat was really all that terrified, wouldn't it have simply run away? It could just be a drama queen.

My college roommate had a cat she adopted as a kitten and treated great. The cat liked to attack men's legs, not quite as viciously as that cat and definitely a lot quieter, but just for shits and giggles. Cats are just weird sometimes.

I don't think that cat was abused; it's showing aggression but no fear.

i've yet to see my cat fold her ears down like that.

I've seen plenty of messed up cats that were never abused. Some of them are mean, some of them are just down right insane. My friend's parents have this cat that will circle your leg and act all sweet... then when you try to pet it it flips out and mauls you and runs off. WTF

A friend of mine in AZ used to have a cat that hated men as well.
I get along with almost all animals fine and my ex does not.
The cat had no problem with my ex, but I couldn't get near it without it hissing and slapping at me.

Some cats are just weird.

I've seen several cats that were this mean. Yet they were models of good behavior with their owners.

I've tamed a few old battle veterans that showed up, and I had one that was at least that mean. After about a year, he'd sleep down by my feet at the bed, and would let anyone pet him.

And just like some people are crazy....same goes for animals.

I have a friend who says his parents have a cat like that. It loves his mom, but hisses at his dad. In fact, I believe he said it hisses at everybody except his mom.

we've dealt with some pretty mean cats that just don't like anyone other then their owner.

my 8 year old orange tabby has now gotten to the point if the UPS truck comes down our driveway he runs around the house growling, and if there is someone at the door, he growls and acts defensive.
funny thing is we have never had a doorbell but if he hears one on tv, he gets up and growls, looking at the door.

cats are just odd.

when it comes down to it though, they are animals, and unpredictable.

Same here. Some cats just hate strangers or certain people and will freak out around them. Or it might be that the cat hates the camera. And some cats are prone to occasional bizarre anxiety attacks, where they'll act like that even to their owners for no reason at all, and then a little while later be back to perfectly normal like nothing ever happened.
Cats are very emotional, and prone to the same mental illnesses that humans are.
