I don't understand people that buy expensive brand name clothes, be they Gap, A&F or whatever other label is in vogue these days. I mean, they're all made in the same sweatshops by the same children. I mean, with brand names you're paying 4-6x the price simply to have the companies name on your clothes. How stupid is that?

Well you do feel quality in nicer pair of jeans. I'll pay more for quality but I have my limits as I'm a student. Some of the jeans I've worn were *crap* and very thin in quality. Did not like that, colour also faded faster. £50-£75 for a pair of nice jeans is alright.

Not so in to brand names, just clothes that look right and have the quality. If it has that I may buy it if I need it.

My last four pairs of sneakers were: reebok, reebok, adidas, reebok. None of these lasted more than 6 months. Paying more does in no way mean you're getting more. 75 pounds (170 CAD) for a pair of jeans is simply outrageous. 30 CAD (12 pounds) is the most I'd ever spend on pants.

Why would you only want to associate with people who care about your clothes?

I used to work at an A&F to help pay the bills. I do think that they're overpriced, but the quality on everything they sell is really high, higher than Banana Republic, of whom I've had lots of pairs of pants shred in a couple weeks. Sure you're paying for a label, but you pay for a label for pretty much any piece of clothing that has some asshole's name on it.

That is not what I meant. I could have worded it better. Basically, I wanted to be understood as if you have a problem with the way I dress, keep it to yourself. I hate these generalizations made due to the clothing one chooses to wear.

Stuff in England is pricey :(

If I could spend less and get a quality pair less then £75 which I usually do (£50-£60 ish) then I do.

If I could spend 30 cad then I would but price's in England are not like they are else where in the world.

How do you wear your trainers? I've had a pair of Nike Shox R3 for more then 2 years now and they look great. Grip at the bottom splitting a bit but doesn't do much to the shoes. Still a great pair. I tend to get Nike shoes as they fit me better and I prefer the styling. Some adidas ones are nice though, but I'm not spending much now a days. Saving my money.

England prices are only high as its all relative. We can get a lot more in other countries with the £ to $ or pratically anything else. If I had the options to spend less I would. I've bought some crap quality jeans before, they were thin and the colour faded much faster.

Clothes are almost always the first thing people notice about you when they see you. Like it or not, it makes a huge difference in how you perceive others and vice versa. Ideally people would only factor in personality when judging others, but realistically appearances count and it's pretty silly to think anyone could completely discount it. Ironically I've noticed that people who complain about people passing judgement on how others dress look are the ones who make the most assumptions about people from the way they dress (i.e. "he's wearing Gucci, he MUST be a fashion victim)

I used to wear almost all A&F and structure before they became express. I'll have to agree with their quality. I had a pair of cargo pants I wore like once a week almost for 5 years and they're only now starting to get torn. I've got shirts from there that have lasted way longer than any other shirt and it seems like the Tshirts are just softer than other shirts. Not sure what it is...

That and chick's are really attracted to the look..

I dunno what it is with me and shoes. I just wear them normally and in six months they look as if I've worn them for years. The last two reeboks I wore tore at the sides, the top of the shoe separated from the sole. The mesh of the adidas ones I had tore after several months and the reeboks before that developed some problem in their sole, they would squeak whenever I stepped on the ground.

As for your clothes, since you're in europe you should consider going on an annual shopping trip to eastern europe. It may sound outrageoous, but clothes there are amazingly cheap. I was in Bulgaria for 3 weeks this summer and I couldn't believe how cheap it was. Nice t-shirts for 2-5 CAD (1-2.5 pounds), shorts for 3-8 CAD. I got a nice vest for 7 CAD and a great suit for 45 CAD, 20GBP (!!!!). And these prices are from normal stores, not the bazaars where you might find cheaper stuff. As for the quality, I haven't had any problems, you just have to watch out for the Turkish stuff..you don't want that.

Hmmmmmm....could try that but I really don't need anymore clothes. I have a lot of clothes now for me that will last a long time. I use to spend £100 or so a month on clothes and stuff. Now I don't need to spend much at all. Hell I only bought a tie and long sleeved t shirt since September 02! So I've cut out a lot of my spending.

I only bought the t-shirt b/c I was out with the gf and it looked nice. So I bought it. I don't really go out looking for stuff I need unless its to replace something.

I have about a few pair of trainers and shoes so they all get good wear so none of them wears out faster.

Wish things were cheaper in England! But nice clothes do feel better to me. The fabric of the FCUK t shirts I have feels very good. Very soft and feels nice.
