People suck at leaving feedback on Ebay

Not sure what happened, but I'd say only 2-3 out of every 10 buyers bothers to leave feedback anymore.

Pisses me off!!!

As long as the people who do leave feedback, leave positive feedback, I don't care how many buyers or sellers leave feedback for me.

The number of feedback isn't as important as the overall rating itself.

Feedback has always been broken. It's just that more people are finally realizing that for the most part, it's pointless.

That goes both ways. I always leave feedback as a buyer, and I only get feedback from about half of the people I buy from.

Early on in the wild west days of Ebay (before there was paypal and ebay would NOT stand behind transactions in any way) feedback actually had a purpose and was somewhat accurate.

But for the last decade or so it's been a total joke and just a matter of vanity.

OP misrepresented thread contents in topic description. Refuses to refund my time. Avoid future posts from this user!

I know this has nothing to do with feedback but it just another reason I hate ebay on top of feedback.

Back when ebay motors was a flat 25.00 listing fee and a 25.00 final value fee I listed an aution sniped with someone with a 0 feedback. I believe his was before feedback limits.

I asked them to refund the listing fee they would only issue a credit for the FVF. I told them I wouldn't be paying it and Ebay immediately banned my account and I haven't had an account since. On top of My father had to prove that he wasn't me on a couple of occasions as their system would think it was me making a new account and ban his account. I think he even had to send him a copy of proof such as an ID or whatnot.

I refuse to deal with anything eBay or PayPal. I cannot stand them both.

This trend coincided with the new feedback system. A lot of people don't see the point as you can't leave honest feedback on what buyers suck and a lot of buyers don't care to leave feedback if the cross-prompting for mutual gain isn't in place.

Once you get a decent amount of feedback, you kind of stop worrying about that. I could understand how it would be frustrating for new users trying to build up their feedback, though.

I never leave feedback. I only buy - seller never leaves it first, so I won't leave it to them. I rarely use it so a high feedback is worthless anyways.

Yeah, feedback is pretty useless, when so many sellers use it like a reward for leaving them positive feedback. I realize there's a lot of picky jerkweed buyers out there, that will leave a neg feedback for the stupidest reason. But for the rest of us, like me, who pay as soon as I get the notification that I've won, why wait? I mean, I did my job, what's the use of making me wait?? 🙄

Well..I'd say wait until they leave feedback before giving them feedback - that seems to be the trend lately. Or just send them a short email [via ebay] and ask them to leave feedback?
