well it matters in regular mail, why wouldn't it matter in e-mail?

Just trying to point out the very correct reasoning.

It matters in regular mail? I thought the USPS prefers all uppercase, but nobody does that and we all still get our mail.

If you address a letter to san antonio, tx it'll still get to San Antonio, TX.

a couple weeks ago, my boss blamed me for the network & scanner going down because i unchecked 'hide extensions in file types' in windows explorer. this is the same guy who double clicks links in web browsers.

yeah, but my boss is the CIO (Chief Information Officer) of the company...
i wonder if we have the same boss because thats exactly something my boss would say. i can't remember if he double clicks links or not. i don't know why, but that really annoys me when people do that.

No, I'm not joking. Although addresses are supposed to be in all uppercase, if you use lower case there are other rules where specific elements MUST be capitalized.

The older generation understands grammar, spelling and punctuation. Granted it's not needed in email addresses, but 'al u yung ppl' could learn a thing or two from them regardless.

It is possible to have case sensitive email addresses although most hosts do hot have their systems setup this way anymore
