I'd like to list some items and am just wondering how you can tell when their free listing days are, and how often they are? I accidently hit one a few days after Christmas.. thats the only way I know about them.

wow, didn't even know they had such a thing

I'd be interested too...though I doubt Ebay does it on a set time or else everyone would take advantage of it

Did you say free? listing days? I've never caught them on any of those....sheesh...let me know as I constantly sell junk..er ...I mean "collectibles" on ebay for profit, to support my day trading habit.

I don't know how the "official" notifications work, but I sometimes see people talking about it a day or two in advance, but not more than that.

Keep in mind that on a free listing day, there are many more items listed than usual. The people who are heavy ebay sellers and have software to automate listings can list hundreds of items at once. That means what you are trying to sell will be competing with many more items, and many of those items will be ending at the same time yours are. It might be smart to vary the auction end times because most people list 10-day auctions.

The bottom line is expect lower prices when you list items on a free listing day.

u still get stuck with the final valuation fee, so its not a completely free ride. there is the one after thanksgiving, the one after Xmas, and possible one in spring or beginning of summer but i cant recall. i dont think they have more than 3 per year though.

oh and eBay reports earnings tomorrow, and their stock is hovering at 52 week highs

I use andale to manage my auctions and I usually find out a few days in advance since it'll show up on my start page. Doesn't really save me money though, all my items start out at $1 so that $0.35 only.

The best way is to frequently check ebay's announcements board and they'll usually post it a few days in advance
