What the hell is wrong with them, anyway? They look like crap like that.

My supervisor is running his 1900FP at 1024x768. I'm not going to say anything to him, but it looks like crap.

yah, i don't know wut's up w/ that. my school upgraded all the monitors last summer to LCDs and ran em at 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024 and they didn't look so hot. i had to change the resolution everytime i used a computer. bah.

but you should mention it to your boss. he might not be aware of the fact that LCD's have an optimal resolution

yes they are retarded

i can not play games less than 1600x1200 unless it is diablo II or starcraft

sometimes the native res are too small onLCD's (For Office applications)

15 -1024x768 too small
17-1024x768 Just Right
18- 1280x1024 too small
19- 1280x1024 just right

So in this case a 19"er I don't see what your bosses problem is. He would enjoy much better at it's native res.

yea, I agree with all this.

There is another side however... what about the people with LCDs that are native 1024x768 that try to run them higher? a lot of times it wont let you, other times, it just looks bad.

Is that even possible? It would be like cramming 150 keys in a 104 key keyboard.

haha its just plain dumb.
My last 2 LCD s ran at 1600x1024 and 1600x1200.

1024x768 is totally unworkable for me, unless the monitor is 14"

even worse are the stores like compusa, fry's, etc that run their 19" lcds at 800x600. how do they expect anyone to buy a screen if it looks like sh!t?

My mom's friend is an architect and she bought one of those lacie blue monitors for 800 bucks, and when I came over, guess what resolution she runs at? 800x600! She told me her eyes are too bad to see anything smaller...complete waste of money.

Is that native on your 17'? Most are 1024x768 (and 4:3 aspect while you're running a 5:4 so it may be skewed it it is'nt native) And IMO when you look at text all day your res is too small.
