Image retention was NEVER an issue for me. If there was retention from the PC desktop etc. it was only temporary.

Yes.

I had a flat-tube monitor that I used for like 9 years. The image quality was excellent, I had none of the eyestrain problems I had with early LCDs or cheaper CRTs, and I had 120Hz refresh before it was cool.
