I am selling a CF card on ebay and charging $10 for shipping and handling. Ya, I know its about $4 too much but it is a good way to cut down on the ebay fees and it also pays for the time to box it up and drive it over to the PO.

So this guy sends me an email saying my shipping was too high. WTF, I have sold the same cards to other people and no one ever complains. I just can't believe someone has enough time to send someone an email complaining about something they aren't bidding on. If you don't like it just move on.

Edit: I calculated the actual cost to me: $3.85 shipping + $3.20 for insurance + gas, time, packaging material = ~$8-9. I clearly state the shipping method in the auction and price.

I least he didn't win the auction and then tell you that your shipping is too high and not pay until you lower the cost. That would suck.

People who bitch about Ebay on OT suck. Everyone knows Ebay sucks ass and is not going to change. Why keep buying and selling there?

Thats the point. If you don't like it then don't bid on it. Just pass it up and move on. The fact that you have to contact the seller and complain is just stupid. Most ebayers will up the cost of S&H to cover some of the costs. Actually the cost to me is $3.85 + $1 for insurance + $2 for gas if it is the only package + label and time spent to print everything. So $10 isn't that unreasonable.

I think I've got one of those on the hook right now (and shipping I quoted is close to actual cost)...I'm not holding my breath on getting paid for it. Amazing how many people think you can mail a 2lb box for a buck Priority.

he has too much time complaining on sth he didn't bid on, just like you have too much time complaining about it over here. He couldn't ignore it, just like you couldn't ignore his email.
 
I wouldn't email you about it and bitch, but I certainly would bitch you out in my head.

I charge $10.00 to ship things like a hard drive, GPS units, power supplies, and wireless routers...but NEVER that much for a little CompactFlash card. I normally charge $5.00 -$6.50 to ship stuff like CF cards depending on if I ship it out USPS or UPS.

Actually the cost to me is $3.85 + $1 for insurance + $2 for gas if it is the only package + label and time spent to print everything.

Also, takes me 10 seconds to print out a label on my printer for label at a cost of about a few pennies.

I can bitch all that I want because this is OT. I keep selling there because the profit margin has been around 20%. Can't beat that anywhere and I have yet for a deal to go south.

I love using the FS/FT forum here but sometimes you get a lot more off of ebay and some things just won't sell here.

2 bucks for gas?!?!!? WTF do you drive, a f'in hummer?!?!? As much as I like to rip people off, your shipping price is ridiculous, no matter how much you try to justify it. Stop thinking you time is worth so much you lazy biatch.

If you don't like eBay and people who buy stuff there, why do you continue to sell your product? If you're so unhappy, just stop using eBay and keep your CF card which you have absolutely no use for.

Seriously, be a man, deal with things as an adult, and stop whining on AT about eBay!

i once was shipping a motherboard, and two sticks of ram out. in my auction, i stated a certain price for shipping and handling. in the end, it cost me about 10 bucks more =( now that sucks. so just delete your spam and move on 😛
 
Umm gas around here is about $1.89 a gallon and its about a 18 mile round trip. Car gets around 22 MPG so its more like a $1.60.

Man you people are harsh around here. So it costs me around $3.85 + insurance which is actually around $2-3 plus gas. When the cards sells for almost $200 is isn't that much.
 
heh i just sold a p2 350 computer on ebay. The case for it was huge and heavy. Well I charged the guy $35 and i thought for sure the guy was going to complaine about me overcharging him. when the actual shipping was $32.

I usually sell things that I can get a good deal on, on ebay. I will buy enough to cover the one I want. I bought a canon S45 and sold enough of them to cover the cost of the one I kept. I do the same for the CF cards. I have done it for printers, scanners, cdrw drives and so on. It is how a justify buying toys. I do have a use for the card I am keeping but not the other ones that I selling.

This is an OT forum and I can bitch about whatever I want to. Everyone else bitches about bf's or gf's or how they hate something else. So get your panties out of a bunch and just don't read my threads.

I look at this way. I'd rather have semi-reasonable shipping charges and let the high bids on the items take care of the rest. Today, I sold a 40GB hard drive. I charged $10 S&H + $1.50 insurance.

I ended up costing me $12.10 to ship it insured. So what if I lost 60 cents on shipping, but I made a pretty nice profit on the hard drive itself. I like to make my customers happy and accomodate them.
